:: a new start…

Today was my first day at my new university: the Eötvös Loránd Tudományegyetem [ELTE] in Budapest, Hungary. So far, I am totally overwhelmed by the beauty of the city and the friendliness of the people I met. I am about to fix the courses I’ll hold in the upcoming winter semester. More to follow soon… Here’s a little impression of Budapest: the Parliament as seen from the Fisherman’s Bastion on the Castle hill:

: : mcm course is over

The practical course I gave as part of the Master Exchange Programme in Media and Communication Management (MCM) is now officially over. The course was quite stressful, but very interesting — also for me.

We visited many local media organizations, for example: The ORF Landesstudio Salzburg, the local branch of the Austria’s public broadcasting institution; the Salzburger Nachrichten, where we waited until the printing machines started to operate; subnet, Salzburg’s net culture organization, the Civilmedia (Un-)Conference; and the Bavaria Filmstudios in Munich.

I liked the discussion with the students from China about the different media systems and the intercultural exchange. After the course was over I got a present from the Chinese students; I was really honored.
